Just found out that if you have a state CCL you can easily get a Pennsylvania Right to Carry. Pennsylvania has reciprocal agreements with a number of states. For Ohioans like me, an Ohio CCL plus PA RTC gives reciprocal in 38 states, including Texas. Getting a PA RTC requires only sending a copy of your state CCW, a simple application and $26 for 5 years. It appears that Centre County, PA's Sheriff is the most friendly and expedient, so that is where many submit. Here are links to more info:

Yes -- Right to carry. PA has no CCL laws. From what I have gathered, this means that all you need is a County Sheriff to issue a RTC certificate and you can carry just about anywhere in PA without the silly holster, Class D, gunbuster, restaurant restrictions, etc. Of course, federal facilities are prohibited under Federal law so I would avoid them.
PA is a must issue state so you cannot be refused if you send the required info. However, some counties are slower than others and Centre County comes highly recommended, even for Ohioans (it is the county where State College/"Happy Valley" is located).
Also, PA is an open carry state. Very gun friendly.
The only 2 states you miss with Ohio/Pa certificates, which a Florida CCL will cover, are Mississippi and Alabama. I have no plans to visit either state so no problem there.
And yes, you east coast blue state guys are screwed. Even the new NJ Republican governor is anti-gun.

Oh, speaking of NJ, we are currently in NJ visiting family and we came without guns (no flames, please). The Peoples Republic of NJ takes its gun-hating seriously and I would lose my profession with a felony conviction.
But have to tell you, of all the places we visit, this is a state where a concealed weapon would really come in handy. Pretty scary. Glad we moved out of here 19 years ago. Everyone we talk to who lives here wishes they were out of NJ, too. Taxes, crime and political environment are deplorable. If you want to see what the rest of the country is heading for look no further than NJ (and its West Coast counterpart, CA).

Up until about 15 years ago, no other state would recognize CT's hunter competency certificate. We do have CCP's though, and our hunter classes have improved.
