Here's the 64-5 I recently purchased from J& G Sales. Nice gun. Perfect timing, no endshake, good exterior finish. This one will be going back to S&W for the bead-blast and master action job. I'll also add a new hammer to return DA/SA capability. A very good bargain ($241.00 shipped). I added a set of Pachmayr "Compac" grips because the originals were trashed.

Nice gun. Congrats. The k-frame is the best of all S&W's.
As I've said before "Everything you need and nothing you don't".

Got that right, Dframe! Going out to shoot it today... if POI is off, I'll have the boys at S&W do some magic to the barrel with a vise. Can't have a waazoo custom handgun that doesn't shoot to POA!

Here's a sample group, 20 yards, DA (obviously), 148 gr wadcutter factory. Perfect POA/POI. I'll keep it. It'll be off to the S&W Performance Center ASAP.

I saw the guns they have on that site for sale. They are a good price for a project gun. I may indeed have to pick one up to play with!

Here's some "after" photos of my 64-5, after getting back from S&W. I had an express action job (also fitted new SA/DA hammer and left off the trigger stop) done. I was going to get a bead-blast too, but this one polished up quite nicely, thanks to the advice of Forum member Max. I fitted a really nice set of Rosewood magnas and a Tyler T and I'm ready. Beats any newly produced lock gun today, at little more than half the cost.

You certainly have that 64 looking sharp Bob. You can't beat a 64 when it comes to a great 38.

I dig the round butt.

I may get busy with mine and a file.
