Woo Hoo.......
I was looking for a colt officer ltwt today at the fort worth gun show, talk about prices being high. The only new in box I found they wanted $1,650, talk about crazy pricing. :)

Things are NUTS right now. I stopped by the gun shop to try that 625 I bought to shoot it and see if I liked that red-dot recticle. If I did, I would just keep it, if not, I'd need to get a rear sight.
The place was NUTZ. Front to back people everywhere.
I found out I'm not a red-dot recticle kind of shooter. I found it very distracting.

Thanks Max for setting this up. My only handgun for now is a Springfield Armory 1911 in rare two-tone (chrome/acid-dark chrome) with a worked trigger and rosewood grips. Will post a photo at some point.

WOW, I didn't pay nearly that much for mine about 4 years ago. More like about $550, if I remember correctly. I guess I should get mine appraised.
It's in THIS (http://www.revolverforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=632&postcount=5) post which should be in this thread......
Mark I also picked up a defender just a couple of months back for $525 which is very similar to the officer but with ramped sights. It is the last month that has really gone crazy in pricing from what I can see. Oh and I love that officer, still would love to find one at a reasonable price to round out my collection of 1911's and I'm sure one will come along.

Here is the last one I picked up, last winter. It will more than likely be my last. I added the Ivory, and have since replaced the blue screws with nickel, since this was taken. It is a series 70, on a Gold cup frame, done by Colt for the last owner. Been trying to locate some Nickel Mag's, but no luck. :( :)

That is a sweet looking Colt.:thumb: One of these days I am going to own a nickel plated gun.

Same with me, I shoot an iron sight faster and more accurate that a red dot sight. you would think my old eyes would prefer a dot with single sight plane to a duel sight plane, but its not so.
