Here's a really nice 36 3" from 1971 that I just picked up. The finish is actually much better than the photo; I didn't clean the gunk, smudges and lint off of it. I like the little 3" square butt J-frames; easier to shoot and just about as concealable. I paid $380.00 for this one-not a great deal, but not bad. I cleaned it in and out and added a Tyler T; at 10 yards it dropped them into the x-ring with factory wadcutters. I'll keep this one.

Nice looking revolver OIF2.

I have a 36-1 3" that dates to 81 or so. Mine is a round butt and for a while was one of my cometition revolvers, PPC Off Duty. The 3" model seemed to be more accurate than the 2" ones and I don't see it as being just the extra sight radius. I fitted a set of applewood grips to mine to duplicate the "T" grip and factory stocks. Another shooter liked the way the stocks looked and the revolver shot, I sold him the grips and kept the revolver. Someday I have to carve another set of grips for it.

You have a good shooter, and wadcutters are not a bad choice either.

I've always been a big fan of 3 inch revolvers (in my case, Detective Specials). They seem to balance and handle just a little better than the 2 inchers while sacrificing little if anything to concealment. Congrats on a real nice find.
