Well the lady smith has been a huge disappointment so far, as i mentioned in the other thread the front screw is a little buggered. well i decided i would probably bugger it up eventually any way so i decided to not say anything. Then I noticed the grip screw was rusted like it had been left out in the rain for 20 years..... that was starting to bother me more. then this weekend i pull the revolver out to clean it after the range, and i find small bits of rust starting to form on the left hand side of the frame. i already can't hit shit with the gun im starting to wonder if i don't just want my money back.

I will be contacting smith and wesson today

ok they are sending me a label to ship the gun back to them, the rep's first question was are you carrying it,...... well yea why else would i buy a snub nose. (not my actual response) he said you have to wipe it down every night. well i try to but i bet it's more like every few day's. but im wondering how can a gun that i have only carried maybe 20 times rust and it being carried is the reason it's rusting? hell i have only had the gun 7 day's over a month... we shall see how they handle it but im thinking ill take the loss on the gun and sell it after this.

Short answer... sweat. The moisture generated to cool your body contains some pretty strong salts. I carry a SigSauer P232 and noticed that the grip screw is rusted. Not exactly what I expected from German engineering...

All three holsters I use (Galco IWB Deep Cover, pocket Nemesis and an ankle holster) all separate the weapon from my body with nylon or leather.

But sweat is a liquid (Duh... no kidding) and can get to places you would not normally think possible.
