Bought a nice, 5" M&P .38 today...first one (revolver) in awhile. Been on a Browning Hi Power kick lately and, I'm ashamed to say, have neglected the revolver side of things. This one is a gorgeous, in-the-box, K-frame long-action post-war transition gun with the one-line address. It's probably 98-to 99%, with just a tiny rub-mark on the edge of the right muzzle (probably from sitting in the box). Stocks are flawless high-horn magnas. This is a nice one, found in an awesome gunshop in the middle of nowhere. Price ($580.00 out-the-door) wasn't bad, either. I'm happy with this one-I've been looking for a flawless 40's or early 50's 5" K-Frame for awhile. I think I found it. Give me 2-3 weeks for the pick-up and photos.

Sounds like a really sweet catch. I presume it was this revolver that was giving you problems in reaching for the mag. release button? :D :D

Looking forward to pictures.

(Do you mind sharing the location of this "awesome" gunshop? Or is it like Honey Hole Trout pools, kept secret from even the closest blood relative?:D :D)

Hi Jim
Mid South Guns in Wagram, NC. One of the best gunshops I've ever been in. Prices are not stupid, either.

The 5" K frames from that era are some of the finest shooting revolvers around. The long action is kind to most shooters.

I have a 38 Special M&P and a 32 WCF M&P both with 5" barrels.

Let's see some pix of those 5" Ks...love the 5" barrel length.

Here you go Bob,

My M&P in 38 Special.

And my M&P cut for the 32 WCF.

Another odd one, M&P, 32 WCF but 6 1/2" barrel

These are the wrong grips for the age of the revolver. I want a more appropriate set but getting to the shows is not on my schedule for a while.
