In 2005, a family in my town here in Northcentral Ohio purchased the assets of Ithaca Shotgun out of bankruptcy in New York. What they got were truck loads of parts, tooling (some going back to the company's origins) and customer guns returned for warranty repairs. For the sake of goodwill they fixed the customer guns even though they were not legally required to do so. They had enough stocks and other parts to complete several hundred shotguns and then manufactured/sourced parts to build more. Several large police departments prefer the bottom eject feature of the Model 37. Unfortunately, they too ran into financial problems but another local group bought the company and production is continuing. One of the things that differentiated Ithacas was the quality of the stock, which is still being sourced from the woods of New York.
