When I was a very young lad of sixteen or so, I got my very first revolver, a Colt New Service .45 Colt. My gun was an ex-.455 Eley from the Canadian Mounties, bought for $34.95 in September of 1954. About 1960 it was my first attempt at putting together a custom gun. Found an old print of the gun and copied it to digital:

The gun was converted to .44 Special, had a Smith & Wesson rear sight, and a Micro Ramp front with 1/8" Patridge blade and an Ace trigger shoe. I made the walnut grips at home, not being able to afford custom stocks at the time.

Nice gun. A bit big for my hands, I have trouble shooting well with them double action. Single action is fine for me. Those grips look pretty good to me.

No, unfortunately. It suffered a broken mainspring and I had put it in a nearby gunshop for repair, and it was stolen from that shop.

The owner gave me a Ruger .41 Magnum Blackhawk in replacement. Over the years, I've come to not miss the old Colt so much.
