I love mine. I easily go through a box of 500 in a week. It is very accurate at 25yds. I can cosistently hold a 5-6 inch group, not 2 inches but it's good for me. Take care of yourself and all of those around you.

Heres a post I had on Rimfire Central 3 months ago. As you can see I like mine to.
Just got this South Sales 6" Stainless MKIII. Shot 170 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 37gr. HP's and then set up this last target and shot 30 rounds off hand of 10 shots each at 7 1/2, 15, 25 yrds. This is with ammo right out of the plastic box with no sorting by weight or rim thickness. Pretty good for this old man with eyes that need surgery. This gun came with an excellent trigger that is crisp and light. I dont know the exact trigger pull weight or care I just know it's nice. Overall a real nice gun except for it's a little rough in opperation of inserting and removing the magazine. I'm a happy camper although I think my MKII still has the edge.

If I could get a bull barrel Mark II, I'd be happy.

Me too. The Mark III is the gun that cured me of semi-auto-itis.

A Mark I bull barrel was my first Ruger. It's been with me nearly a half century now. It had the sweet "pre-lawyer" trigger that eventually wore out. Sent it back to Ruger and it now has merely a decent trigger - good enough that I haven't been tempted to have it worked on, but not as sweet as the original. Sometime in the early 90s I was gifted with a Mark II bull barrel, stainless. A gun that I really like.

I have no desire to get a Mark III, but I'd be interested as to what you folks have against them?

Primarily, that loaded round indicator. It indexes on the RIM of the .22 RIM FIRE. One of the .22 forums showed that the gun can fire if the the loaded round indicator is hit sharply.

The other thing is the magazine disconnect. I really dislike the idea of a magazine disconnect. Makes triggers grittier. (In general)

Thanks rj. I'd never handled one nor read anything about them. Personally I think Ruger's R&D folks managed change without progress - at least in this instance.
