Hello
I Picked up a Nice model 25-5 shown in .45 Colt a Few Years ago, and soon after getting it, wanted it's twin brother the model 25-2 In .45 ACP but it was proving to be a hard one to find. I finally came acorss one thank God for the Internet and this one came to me unfired in it's presentation case. I shoot both all the time and like them both. The model 25-2 is wearing a set of Walter Roper Custom Made handgun grips from the late 1930's made for the serious Camp Perry shooters. They are a rare find them self's but I have a set in-N-Square frame now shown and another set in K-Sq. that ride on my Pre-16 K-32 masterpiece...Hammerdown

Hey Dave
That is exactly what my X-Son in law said at the closing of the last Conversation we had. :gun: H.D.

The M25-2 has been a fairly easy model to find around my parts of the country, I have had no less than six in my possesion, but sold all except one 6" and one 6 1/2". It is one of my favorit guns for USPSA matches.

What does a nice 25-2 go for?

$795, huh? Not bad. I thought the older Smith's were getting more expensive. That seems like a reasonable price relative to a new Smith. I may have to start looking for some pre-lock Smiths when I can afford a few more guns. I know I'd like a J-frame snubbie, and a 610. That 25-2 is appealing to me, also.

Haven't paid more the $450.00 for a 25-2 in Las Vegas, bought my last one around six months ago.

Other than a model 1917 I've never owned a S&W in .45 acp. May pick one up eventually, just always found something I like better. I have a very hard time walking away from a S&W in .45 Colt that's for sale.

Dave- I can help you with that 610-either first or second issue. They are up there, but not bad for what you get. Hand loading is the way to go with them. I can even supply some 1 fire, cleaned and stored brass if you have the need. :)

I'm pretty tapped out right now. All my overtime dried up this year because of the economy and I've missed some work because of problems with my Achilles tendon. The first thing I want to do when I can buy again is replace my crappy XD40. Been thinking about a CZ97B, but not sure what it's going to be yet.

Hammerdown,

If you don't mind, I will post my "twins" here with yours;

And a group shot with the M28 conversion.

I am looking for some matching grips for the 25-5 and also working on making some stags for all of them. I did a set of boot grips in stag for a friend of mine and they came out okay for his K frame.

Just saw the photos, they are a little fuzzy, sorry everyone, I will shoot some better ones when I get the chance. (I think I fixed the photos, 4 Dec.)

Yup, nothing like the big 45.

You did notice there is one missing didn't you? Still haven't got the 4" 45 Colt. Someday, I'll find it.
