View Full Version : Guns will be under attack.
This weekends killings one after the other are going to weigh heavy on gun owners. You can bet this will put teeth in the current administrations bite. While we have a political site just for this I wanted to hear what some of you hear thought about this.
I think it's extremely sad, I would like to know what the entire stories were behind these but you know they will be painted poorly for gun rights. IMHO

The answer is not and never has been GUN CONTROL. The issue as I see it, is more of a frustrated middle class feeling more and more desperate. I'm sure you won't see it on the news, but I'll be willing to bet that the "shooters" in these cases all have had "warning signs" of instability that went ignored. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they should be "disqualified" for gun ownership due to psychiatric or legal problems in their past.
From what I have heard so far your correct for at least two of the incidents and I just haven't heard anything about the third yet. It is such a terrible tragedy when these things happen.

what happened? EDIT: nevermind I just found the story, words can't decribe how angry i was reading that story. However guns are not to blame for this, just some nutjob. You guys are talking about the police officers that were shot in Pitsburg right?

In my opinion and it is just my opinion...Going after guns in light of these tragedies ignores the actual root causes of the tragedies themselves, however; they will blame the guns solely and go after them. The paranoid part of me wonders why these incidents seem to have become more frequent as soon as the current administration stated that 90% of weapons going into Mexico came from the US and the public basically called bullshit.

I think they were also talking about the massacre in New York State at the immigration center.
There are actually three incidents right now. The Nutjob in NY. This one http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/04/04/washington.children.shot/index.html and then the three officers. All tragic events and as RJ stated I think this has more to do with the tough times going on then guns. Guns just happen to be the weapon being abused during this.

These have been a nasty few weeks with all these mass killings. I'm sad for all the victims and angry at the crazies who did all this. Of course this is making it bad for gun owners as I'm sure this will feed the anti-second amendment crowd.

I think it will take more than this to move the Dems into considering gun control measures seriously. As we have seen on numerous occasions, Pelosi, Reid and Obama have just not let them come to the floor or steal the headlines. It seems that the DNC has come to realize that gun control is a big loser. Still, vigilance is the keyword!!!

Gun control is on the Dem agenda but is down the priority list behind bankrupting our economy and socializing our country (sorry for the political digression). These killings are isolated nut jobs and don't think they had any tie to the legal purchase/use of guns. Not aware that any of these killers had CCW's (I doubt it). To me they are all the more reason we need armed citizens to provide defense against these monsters.

The anti-gun zealots haven't gone away or given up. Right now the political hacks are focused on reversing every policy of the bush administration, and don't have time for anti-gun legislation. Once the economic recovery begins (if it ever does under obama) they will once again turn their attention to gun grabbing.
