Hello
Last weekend my Father and I went to a very small Local Gun show in my Area. I have been Burned out on Gun shows due to most of them having more Flea-Market Trash and Beenie Babies, along with Beef Jerky rather than Good handguns, so it has been awhile since I went to any. This one has always been all Guns and it also has shown much Promise as I found that hard to Locate Early Post-War Transitional K-22 I am real fond of at it. It only has 135 Tables so it does not take long to ram sack it. I was on the Prowl for some more S&W factory wood grips, but sadly did not find any. I also Noticed that S&W classic revolvers are Through the roof on price. As I was walking out of it, I came across a Guy I know that usually always has some decent S&W's and I Noticed he had a small Pistol rug he was carrying. I asked if he had anything I may like today ? and he replied Just a .22 S&W Pistol as he handed me the Gun rug I expected to see a Model 41. I was shocked when I Opened it and saw a Real Nice Model 422 .22 Pistol with Two Magazines. I asked what he needed for it, and he replied $325.00. I quickly zipped the rug and handed it back to him thanking him for showing it to me. As He took it back, He said "If you don't like my Price, what would you give for it " ? I Pulled out my Wallet and showed him Two Hundred dollar Bills. He stared at them for a moment and said "Well, Times are tough these days, Enjoy that S&W" as he handed it to me and took my Money. I did not waste any time getting the gun out to my Truck and Locking it up, as I have not bought any S&W's in a very Long time for $200.00.:p On the way home, I told my Father that this one was for my Wife. I was not aware of it, but my Wife really Liked the 2206 I had which is the stainless brother to this pistol, and I had swapped it off a few months ago, and she was madder than a Wet Hen when she learned I did that, so this would certainly make up for that Little Blunder. :banghead When I arrived home, I handed the gun rug to her. She was a bit shocked as she never expected to see another one of these Light weight neat Little .22 Pistols. These were made back in 1987-1997. They came either with Fixed sights called the field Model or adjustable sights and wood grips like this one and were called the target Model. They also made a 622 Like this that was stainless with a stainless slide and aluminum frame, a 2213 & 2214 One being blued and the Other stainless with 3" Barrels and fixed sights and lastly in this series was the 2206 which was all stainless. I never could figure why S&W quit making these Little Pistols as all I have had have been Tack drivers and fun to shoot and they all share the Model 41 magazines. I hope to get to the range today to see how well this one shoots. I have had all the fore Mentioned ones in the Past except the 622, But as tough as these are getting to find these days and given the fact my wife likes them, this one is a keeper. Who say's you Can's find any Deals these days at gun shows ?Hammerdown

Nice, Kurt. That's a nice little pistol. I happen to have the stainless steel version 2206 version in my safe. It's a nice shooting pistol and I can see why your wife would be upset with you for selling it.

I picked up two S&W M14's this week-end at the gun show for $700.00, one is a 14-1 and the other is a 14-2. Gun prices seem to be reasonable, but ammo and components are outrageous.

Hi
I got a Little spare time today so I took this Pistol and Two Box's of CCI Ammo to the range to see how it shoots. I shot CCI Maxi-Mags through it and CCI Target velocity ammo. There was no feed or extraction issues and the target's below show how it grouped using both types of ammo. This Pistol is Light weight and will take me some time to get used to it, But it sure shoots better than I am able to hold at the 20 Yard Line. Regards, Hammerdown

I love the price. We should all learn to zero in on the weapons that aren't affected by this insane panic buy and swoop them up for a deal. Gun sure does shoot straight.

Hello Guys
Thanks for all the Nice comments I Must admit, getting this Piece for $200.00 with the High prices what they have been lately, I was able to breath a sigh of relief when it shot good and had no issues. I felt the seller was Too Eager to let it go for $200.00 and I may have had issues with it, but now I am satisified he was just Hungry for the sale:p... Hammerdown

YahHoo!!!!! Scored a Colt Viper this weekend. I've been looking for one for a long time, and a guy just walked up at the show and said he might have a gun I would be interested in. Met him later away from the show to look at the revolver and see if we could make a deal. DONE. THey only made the vipers in 1977 and a VERY brief second run in 92 or 93. Mine is from the later. For the uninitiated the Viper is an aluminum framed gun with a 4 inch barrel. Basically a Cobra with a shrouded 4 inch barrel.

Kurt,

I went ahead and took the 2206 out to stretch it's legs today. When I got it home to clean it, I found the safety spring plate, which is made of stamped spring steel, broke the indexing detent that keeps it in place.

I called Smith and Wesson, and they had them in stock. They sent me one at no cost.

I didn't even have to drop your name ;)

I'll let you know how it looks when I get the part in and put this back together.
