NAA .22 Magnum

Laugh if you want, but what good is a gun that's too big to tote around, and it's sitting on your shelf when you need it. I carry the NAA .22 Magnum most of the time. I move up to a 9mm if I'm heading out on a road-trip

If you look at the data the .22 mag delivers as much energy as a small .38 load. The revolver is so small and light sometimes you forget its there. Of course the down side of a 1.5 inch barrel is you have to be almost in knife range to be effective. With luck it will get someone's attention long enough for me to run like hell!

Not laughing at all, the 22 mag is a powerful round and that thing looks like it weighs well under a pound which is an excellent choice for a lot of occasions.

I have to consider that in your line of work you would have some inside information on what can be effective.

I favor the .22 LR version just because it fits my pocket better. I would view them as a contact distance weapon and think at a contact distance the bullet would do damage and the expansion gases would do even more internal damage.

I have a Freedom Arms Mini Revolver that fits into a belt buckle. It is chambered in .22 LR. Its kinda fun.

Freedom Arms first designed and sold the minis. When Freedom Arms decided to concentrate on large bore revolvers they sold the rights to their mini to NAA.

I have one exactly like that and I really love it. I've never fired magnums through it though. How is accuracy at close range with magnums? I've always suspected they would tumble right out of the barrel.

Dunno... have yet to hit a target at 25 yards..... Pretty good at 10 though.
Don't try to flush a mag in a LR chambered gun!

I have a mag and LR cylinder with mine. I don't think a mag will fit in a LR cylinder. Anyway I'm not about to try it.

I carried the NAA 22WMR until I got the P3AT. As my friend Willie used to say, "It's a doctor's gun. In the eyes, ears nose and throat - it'll stop anyone.

I've got the Black Widow. Accurate up 15 yds. and pain in the ass, to remove the cylinder in order to reload.

I have the same gun George. A friend works in an Emergency room and swears that a .22 Mag often does more internal damage than other rounds. They hit a bone and bounce around inside. Hard to hold the grip though. I have seen the folding grip extender, but haven't talked to anyone who tried one.

I've fired a couple but had one hell of a time doing so. I have huge hands and the wee beastie is just too small for me to manipulate. The bad guy would kill me before I could get the thing cocked and fired.
