Hi,

I've been told that this was a Colt revolver but I dont know because it's old and rusty.

We do have a couple of colt people here and one of them should be along soon. Can I ask where you found it?

Found it among the stuff of my late granddad. He was a retired army officer.

I think it resembles a 1917 DA but can't say for sure. That would make it WWI era.

Your rusty paper weight has many features that MIGHT identify it as a Post war colt revolver. It also has some oddities that make me suspect it may have been a copy produced somewhere else. I know of no colt barrels that look like that and the action is odd lacking a rebound lever, hand, mainspring and other parts. And I've never seen a hammer quite like that on a colt. Perhaps someone more knowledgable than I can identify it.

so.............. how's it shoot? ok sorry couldn't resist, was that thing found on the titantic? ive never seen one that old looking without looking like something that wouldn't work
