Is PPC similar to Bullseye pistol?

[QUOTE=Oriondk;466]Is PPC similar to Bullseye pistol.

No, bullseye matches are shot standing at distances of 25 and 50 yards with one hand only using three guns, .22, centerfire, and 45. You may use any centerfire calibre in cf that is .32 or larger, which means you may use the .45 and then only need two guns.
In PPC you use only one gun and shoot at ranges of7,15,25,and 50 yards ussing two hands, but you shoot from all positions, standing, kneeling, sitting and prone you also shoot from a baracade, with your left hand and right hand.
A full bullseye match is either 180 or 270 rounds and ppc is a total of 150 shots fired. PPC stands for Practical Police course, or if shot by non law enforcement as Practical Pistol Course. It is very hard to find matches that are not LE only.

Not any more, I needed a job that paid more and gave me more free time.

You're V-Rod screen name is Joseph Three Dogs, right? I don't know if you remember, but you answered some questions for me about long range rifle shooting. I ended up buying a Remington 700 SS Milspec 5R.

Unfortunately the high cost of match ammo has kept me from shooting it as much as I'd like. It shoots really well, but I think it can be improved upon. I'm hoping reloading will get me the kind of groups I want. I did manage a .75" group with it at 200 yards, though. Usually runs aroung 1.25 to 1.5" at that range.

Nice shooting.

Hard to tell from the photo so I guess the shot at 3 O'Clock did not cut the line?

Who built your revovler? Mine was a Davis built gun. It still shoots sweet, wish I were up to it's standards.

Did you ever hear of anyone not using Bullseye? Here in Ohio it was either 2.7 or 2.8 grains and when asked what the load was we ususally just answerred the number of grains. The Bullseye part was a given!

I have had numerous PPC guns built over the years, but this match was shot with a Ron Powers built gun. I will tru to remember to take some pics of my present three PPC guns and post them up in the next few days.

PS-The one at three o'clock missed cutting the line by a few thousands of an inch.
