Just got an H&R Young American 22 revolver. It was given to me.The person said he dug it up at his grandfathers yard.It looks like it too. It's not seized up but the gun is very rough. They are worth about $125 in 90% or higher condition, but what the hey,it's another one to add to the collection.
I'll clean it up,one day make it safe, shoot it a few times, then file it away.

Yikes! That is pretty rough looking.
Sometimes you just want to find the history of the gun, it may just be worth more exactly as it is if it has the right serial number.

It's most likely a piece of junk, but like you say,it might have a history.
None the less,I like junk like this.
I have revolvers that have been given to me in pieces wrapped in a rag that I've put back together to make some decent little plinkers.
One of the most unique is an old single six that was found stuck to a sock in a dresser drawer that has a book value of $2400!

There's just something about those early 20th century revolvers that I really like. I have a H&R model 999 from the late 60's early 70's that I enjoy, but its certainly not junk; one of the more accurate .22 revolvers I've owned.
